Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Only Info session (of a dozen New England schools S visitied) where the actual Dean of Admissions spoke. By far the best session we attended. S agreed.

Campus Tour: Yes - Excellent. Guide was a current student from Florida who effectively diffused the cold weather issues. Only criticism was her pronunciation of "Li-berry" rather than Library. Minor point.

Classroom Visit: No - N/A

Wasn't expecting to be as favorably impressed by this school as we were. Clearly they put a lot of emphasis and effort into the Info Session/Tour activities and it shows.

Campus Visit Notes for Bowdoin College

Visit Description:

Just shows that emphasis on the Info Session / Tour is very, very important. This was the only school (of a dozen highly selective NE schools) where the Info Session was lead by the Dean of Admissions. Scott Meiklejohn gave by far the most informative, most interesting, and most helpful of all the info sessios we attended. S left saying "I really want to go here", even though it was not even on his list of schools (We were vacationing in Bar Harbor ME and just decided to stop on the way to Boston).
