Campus Visit Notes for Bowdoin College
Having just come from Bates which my D really liked, there was no "wow" factor at Bowdoin. You could tell a large amount of mony was spent on the physical buildings, the music building was impressive and they are building a new fitness center. Lots of talk of famous alums (Longfellow, Hawthone, George Mitchell) They did talk about importance of community service.
Interviews are done by trained seniors and some admissions staff. Our tour guide mentioned some experiences from her interview.
We really didn't hear much about the calendar and unique programs at Bowdoin, but I guess you can learn much of that from the publications.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
unfortunately, couldn't sample dining hall, we were there in late afternoon and it didn't open for dinner until 5. Students get free ticket, parents pay faculty dining rate.
