Visit Activities:

Admissions Interview: Yes - 2 interviews, one in my hometown and one on campus. Both women were very friendly and open and I never felt pressured or put on the spot.

Information Session: Yes - I attended a lot of information sessions, and they were really helpful and interesting, especially the ones I attended at the Admitted Students program.

Campus Tour: Yes - Very memorable campus tour with a sophomore from Zimbabwe who talked about some of the hilarious pranks in Bryn Mawr's history.

Overnight Visit: Yes - Stayed with two freshman in Merion in November. Lots of fun, with hot cocoa and cookies and a Parks and Recreation marathon.

Classroom Visit: Yes - Sat in on Eastern European folklore class. Very cool class.

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:
5 - Excellent

All the students I met were very enthusiastic and helpful, and they clearly loved BMC. They made me fall in love with Bryn Mawr even more.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

Everyone I talked to was friendly and willing to help. Financial aid were a bit less laidback but still very kind and supportive.

Appearance of Campus:

It really does look like Hogwarts. The only ugly patches are Erdman and Canaday library, but that's just because they were built in the 1960s.

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Every building has character, and everything is clean and well-kept.

Dormitories:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
As far as dorms go, these are some of the nicest and most spacious I've seen. There's no particularly horrible dorm that people dread getting put in (most colleges usually have one of those)

Security/Safety:
5 - Excellent

I always felt safe on campus.

Overall Campus Impression:

I wasn't sure about BMC before I visited, but seeing the campus and talking to the students cemented my decision to apply and enroll when I was accepted.

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:

There's Philly, of course, but Bryn Mawr itself is pretty cool too. Plenty of shops and restaurants; everything you need is in walking distance.

City/Town/Community:

Philly has everything you could imagine! And King of Prussia, the biggest mall on the East Coast, is 15 minutes away!

Campus Visit Notes for Bryn Mawr College

Visit Description:

Bryn Mawr didn't really stand out to me on my list of colleges until I visited. The campus really is as gorgeous as they say, the students really are strong, passionate, intelligent, diverse women, and the opportunities really are limitless. If you want to be challenged, inspired, and transformed, Bryn Mawr has a place for you.
