Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - The info session was very personal-- only one other family in addition to mine. It was more of a discussion format (no PowerPoint). Overall, very interesting and informative.

Campus Tour: Yes - The tour was very nice (although it was very cold). The vibe on campus was amazing... The feeling I got walking around campus is the reason that Carleton is now my top choice!

It was winter, so hard to really say what it looks like in the warmer months.

The buildings were all fairly nice, although we didn't go in a lot of them.

We visited what my tour guide said was the smallest dorm room size on campus, and it was much bigger than dorms at other colleges I've visited. I would be happy living in one!

Tiny town in rural MN... Not too much to worry about. :)

Campus Visit Notes for Carleton College

Visit Description:

The visit was fun and informative... I was struck most by the feeling on campus. All the students around seemed happy and excited to be there, and there was a spirit of inclusiveness. This definitely wasn't the case at some of the other colleges I visited, which looked great on paper but just didn't feel welcoming.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

I live close enough to make a day trip and didn't stay in town.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

I did not eat at Carleton or in Northfield. The other girl on my tour ate in the dining hall, though, so that is available.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Easy visitor parking near the Alumni House/Admissions office.
