Campus Visit Notes for Carleton College

Visit Description:

Someone described Carleton to me as a thinktank.
Students are intellectual beasts but are not at all cocky.
They are quirky and have lots of fun and silly traditions.
My host treated me pretty poorly. She forgot to pick me up in admissions and just overall ignored me. However, I loved lots of the other people I met. Carleton is socially so diverse. Everyone is so different. Lots of colleges have stereotypes like they're preppy or jock or hippy but at Carleton, everyone is so different so everybody fits in.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

The Archer House. quaint and funky at the same time and in walking distance of Carleton.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Chapati- a delicious Indian restaurant in the Archer House. there are tons of other restaurants on the main street of Northfield.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Get a GPS if you are renting a car and unfamiliar with the area. It will save your life.
