Campus Visit Notes for Cornell University
We've been to Cornell four times by now - the initial visit, the interview, Cornell Days, and Freshman move-in. It's my favorite campus and we'll be visiting for the next five years. Staff, professors, admissions people were all helpful and friendly throughout the process. If you have the opportunity to stay on campus at the Stattler, do so. You can come and go as you please, walking wherever you need to go, and can return to change with the weather. Move-in temps went from the 80's to the 60's within an hour (August). The students working at the hotel are charming. Eat on campus, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Dining experiences off campus have been excellent as well. Save a few bucks - stop at Collegetown Bagels for breakfast or lunch and pick up your sweats or Tshirt at little shop next door on your way home. Don't forget your camera for this trip!
Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:
Stattler Hotel on campus is great. Let them park your car and you're right where you want to be for tours and interviews. Holiday Inn and Ramada were good, but you have to drive, park and walk.
Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:
Campus food is quite good. ZaZa's Cantina in Ithaca, Rulloffs and Collegetown Bagels in Ctown are worth visiting. Walk to the Dairy Barn on campus for ice cream.
Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):
No matter where you park, you'll be walking around a lot.
