Classroom Visit: Yes - I sat in on an ILR class. The class had about 300 students, yet everyone was able to participate, and although I sat in the back, I still got a good understanding of what the professor was teaching.

I went to the Purcell dining hall, and all of my host's friends came over and spoke to me. There didn't seem to be any tension on campus and the students were very approachable.

When we arrived off the bus, one of the Admissions officers greeted us, and had us introduce ourselves. I also heard that he drove to the airport to pick up kids who had to fly there.

Although there was some construction going on, I still had a great time wandering around and enjoying the scenery. Such a BEAUTIFUL campus! Campus is a little hilly, but they have bus service.

My dorm shower wasn't working, and had to wait until another opened up. However, the bathrooms were very clean considering 50 girls use it everyday.

The dorm rooms are pretty small. I stayed in a triple @ Dickson & there was barely any space. My host even said that was one of the largest triples! The commons have huge HDTVs with satellite.

Hard to enter a dorm without your ID, and there are numerous blue safety lights located throughout the campus. Very safe feel.

Campus Visit Notes for Cornell University

Visit Description:

When I visited Cornell, I immediately fell in love with it. I had just put in my application for early decision for another school, and when I arrived at Cornell, I honestly hoped that I would get deferred from that school so that I could have the option of attending Cornell! Ithaca is very far up in NY, and its hard to receive signals for your cell phone. I heard that Verizon is a safe bet if you plan on attending school up there.

The campus is humongous. My friend and I got lost numerous times, and when it came time to trying to find the building where our visitors class was, it took us years to actually find it. Even seniors didn't know where the building was. It's not like it was far off, which proves that not even 3 years can serve you enough justice to become an expert of the campus.

The student body isn't very competitve like others say. The class was not even taking notes on the prof.'s lectures. They were either on facebook, or doing fantasy football lol.

Also, the campus is very hilly! I think I need to get in shape if I get accepted lol just to be able to move around campus. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention, the food there is DELICIOUS! But don't worry about gaining the freshman 15, because there is Beebe lake which is perfect for jogging. That's another thing about Cornell, the gorges. It's the perfect area to just go and de-stress if you ever feel exhausted. I must say I love love LOVE Cornell! You should visit if you ever get the opportunity to do so.
