Campus Visit Notes for Cornell University

Visit Description:

We had a very successful visit. It answered many of the questions that my son had that may help him make the decision on whether to apply ED or not. 2 of the 3 info sessions were quite helpful. The CALS meeting was really poor. We were tempted to search out folks who actually would have the relevant information, but time did not permit it. My son said he would follow up via email and phone as the information was lacking. At one point we thought we were being punked. I did not expect to have someone stand up and dryly read a powerpoint and make no connection at all with the audience. We were very impressed with campus and campus life as described by the tour guide. Students appeared to be normal, approachable folk rather than cut throat brainiacs. The city was a perfect college town and "Collegetown" was exactly the haven my son was looking for.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

We had a terrific lunch at the Mahogany Grill and a wonderful dinner at Hai Hong. Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had and really good service. Had lunch on campus at Kennedy Hall. It w

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

We flew into Ithaca and found it cheaper than flying to a larger city and driving. Rental car was very easy.
