Visit Activities:

Information Session: Yes - Had a current student and an admin talk to us about the school. Very informative about the Common App, academics and student life at the school.

Campus Tour: No - We were late to the campus tour as we made a wrong turn on the interstate, but we did a tour walking around campus by ourselves. It obviously wasn't near as informative as one done by the school

Campus:

Friendliness/Courtesy of Students:

Only met the one who was at the info session, but she seemed very friendly and helpful. Didn't meet any other students on campus.

Friendliness/Courtesy of Staff:

They were all very friendly but a bit confusing when they explained some things.

Appearance of Campus:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
Was incredible. So beautiful--the area near the dorms, the lake, the creek, etc. They were doing some sort of landscaping while we where there, but it looked great.

Building/Facilities Maintenance/Cleanliness:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Only able to go inside the Admissions Office, which was nice, but saw the outside of the other buildings which looked well kept.

Dormitories:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Only able to see the outside of them as we missed the tour, but they looked nice, but not sure about the inside, so I'll give it a 4 from what I've seen online.

Security/Safety:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Felt pretty safe but did see a few blue boxes around. Though I have a feeling I wouldn't want to be walking in some parts of the campus at night with all of the trees and dark areas alone.

Overall Campus Impression:
4 - Very Good
4 - Very Good
Liked it, although I couldn't get a good feel of students there as it seemed deserted (but then again, it is the summer).

Off-Campus:

Area Immediately Around Campus:
5 - Excellent
5 - Excellent
Was very nice. Didn't seem seedy or bad. Within walking distance for off-campus food and some shopping.

City/Town/Community:
4 - Very Good

Very cute little town. Had a bookstore, little shops, some little cafes and eateries. Wasn't incredibly big, but it is located in a small rural-ish town.

Campus Visit Notes for Mount Holyoke College

Visit Description:

The info session was great but very small, only few people at it. The campus seemed deserted, though I do think I heard a class or two through some windows. Since I only met one student I couldn't get a good feel of what students are like, so if I wanted to get a better feel of the campus and students, I would need to visit again during the school year. But it was very beautiful, like out of a movie.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Didn't stay in the area, but didn't see many areas for lodging.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Saw many cute little cafes and places to eat that were cheap and looked pretty good.

Other Comments (Transportation, local attractions, parking, etc.):

Pain to park in some areas of the campus, but seemed easier to just park in some spot then walk all over town rather than keep driving and parking.
