Visit Activities:


Admissions Interview: Yes - My son wanted to interview since he is considering Early Decision but the slots were all full. We then asked to interview with an alumni in the Claremont area. They were able to have an alumni come

Information Session: Yes - The session became full fast (columbus day weekend) so they had to move us to a bigger space. They couldn't find one fast that was unlocked. Makes me wonder about clubs finding places to meet o

Campus Tour: Yes - 90 minute tour. Saw dorm and had knowledgeable guide

Our tour guide was super over-achiever! Worked in admissions and helped out when the tour group was too big for 1 guide.

When we called about interview the staff was not helpful or encouraging although they did find an interview for us after an email and phone call. Not enough room for the info session.

Students allowed us to look into their rooms on the tour without early notice. That was helpful to us. Learned that students are assigned rooms depending on their Orientation trip.



Security/Safety:

The classrooms were kept locked (we needed to find a bigger room for our information session but no one in the admission office had a key to rooms)

The Claremont Village area looked quaint with non-franchised stores.

didn't see much. My son was crazy about the fact you could snow ski and go to the beach in the same day.

Campus Visit Notes for Pomona College


Visit Description:

We had a great meeting with a coach. Pomona and Pitzer share a sports team. Since it's division 3 my son hope to be able to play where he wouldn't get a chance at a different school.

Hotel/Lodging Recommendations or Comments:

Disappointed that there were only 2 hotel in the immediate area. They were full when we went to make reservations but I was glad when I found out the prices for the Doubletree! We ended up staying a

Arrive at the admissions office early for a close parking spot before info session/tour.
