Campus Visit Notes for The University of Arizona

Visit Description:

My son had both ASU and U of A on his list, so we took a spring break trip to see both. We saw ASU first, and he crossed it off his list. He said it was too urban and ugly.

We both really liked U of A from the start. It had a great campus feel and vibe right from the start, it's a very traditional campus. The buildings are attractive and there are a lot of nice open grassy spaces.

The presentation and tour were pretty standard. We're from Denver and one of the guides said he was from here so we were hoping to be in his group but we weren't. Our guide did a nice job, and I was happy to finally find out why the motto is "Bear Down" when they are the Wildcats.

Before our visit, my son connected with an admissions counselor and he set up meetings for us with a CALS admissions counselor and an Environmental Science advisor. The meetings went great, the advisor spent about 45 minutes with us and completely sold my son on the program. It's now his top choice.

Dining/Restaurant Recommendations or Comments:

Hub in downtown Tucson is a great place.
